IRGC ANNOUNCES MISSILE STRIKE ON US GUIDED-MISSILE DESTROYERS

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Public Relations unit issued Statement No. 14 declaring that its Aerospace Force has targeted two U.S. Navy guided-missile destroyers, DDG-119 and DDG-53, using ballistic missiles in an operation codenamed “Ya Haidar Karrar.”
According to the official IRGC statement, the strike was launched in retaliation for what it described as aggressive actions and hostile interference by U.S. forces against Iranian oil tankers and maritime vessels.
The IRGC stated that the ballistic missile strikes inflicted significant damage on both Aegis-equipped, cruise-missile-bearing destroyers.
The statement reaffirmed the resolve of the IRGC and the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran to respond firmly to any U.S. military actions, warning enemy forces against any “miscalculations” in the region.
