At least ten persons were killed by an overnight fire in a retirement home in the northern Spanish town of Villafranca de Ebro, the local rescue service reported on Friday.

In its post on X, the Aragon region’s emergency services did not elaborate, but Spanish media said that 82 people were inside the house when the fire started at around 5:00 am (0400 GMT) for unspecified reasons.
