JUST IN: KIDNAPPED DIRECTOR OF RIVERS INTERNAL REVENUE REGAINS FREEDOM

Aribibia Fubara, a director of the Rivers State Board of Internal Revenue, was kidnapped by gunmen on Saturday and has been released.

Fubara, a senior member of the service, was kidnapped on the Okrika Waterfront near the Marine Base in Port Harcourt, the state capital.

Dr. Fubara was reportedly released shortly after midnight on Thursday last week on one of the smaller islands surrounding Bonny. He was not reunited with his family until Friday, September 6, 2024.

A family source confirmed his release, revealing that ₦15 million was paid to ensure his release from his abductors.

The victim was held captive for 12 days before being released.

As of the time of reporting this report, the state police command had set a session for the commissioner of police at which his release and other concerns were due to be discussed.
