KEBBI SCHOOL ABDUCTION: PDP ACCUSES TINUBU GOVT OF PUTTING POLITICS ABOVE CITIZENS’ SAFETY

The People’s Democratic Party has strongly condemned the attack on Government Girls Secondary School in Maga, Danko-Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State, describing the incident as barbaric and another grim reflection of the worsening insecurity across the country.
Bandits reportedly invaded the school, killed the Vice Principal, Hassan Yakubu Makuku, and abducted 25 students.
In a statement issued by its National Publicity Secretary, Comrade Ini Ememobong, the PDP said the tragedy underscores the growing insecurity Nigerians continue to face under the All Progressives Congress-led administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, accusing the government of prioritising politics over the safety of citizens.
The opposition party stated that any government that fails in its constitutional responsibility to protect lives and property must take responsibility and confront the security challenges head-on instead of appearing indifferent or shifting focus from the core issues.
The PDP also expressed sympathy to the families of the abducted students, the slain Vice Principal, as well as the staff, students, management of the school, and the government of Kebbi State.
It further urged President Tinubu to urgently intensify efforts toward securing the lives and property of Nigerians and ending the recurring wave of violent attacks and abductions across the country.
