Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, will shortly be removed for anti-party conduct, according to Abayomi Arabambi, the party’s factional national publicity secretary.
Obi, who just announced his support for the coalition-backed African Democratic Congress(ADC), is aware that being a member of two political parties is illegitimate, according to Arabambi.
This was stated by the leader of the LP in an interview on Tuesday’s Morning Brief on The Media.
“We are holding a NEC meeting where Peter Obi will be expelled,” he stated. As you are aware,
He was suspended before to engaging in the anti-party activities. You do not go and join a political party
while also throwing your weight behind another party. He is aware that simultaneously belonging
to two political parties is unconstitutional.
The former governor of Anambra State is unfit to lead any political party, according to Arabambi,
who also asserted that Obi was the catalyst for the Labour Party’s crisis.
Obi, however, maintained that he is still a member of the Labour Party in spite of his participation in the events
that resulted in the formation of the ADC. Obi recently declared in an interview that he supports the ADC
movement rather than being a party member.
The former governor emphasized that he is capable of leading Nigeria and announced his plan to run for president
in 2023.
