Popular Nigerian rapper Tochukwu Ojogwu, professionally known as Odumodublvck, has alleged that some artistes resort to voodoo practices to achieve hit songs in the Nigerian music industry.
Speaking during an episode of the Tea With Tay podcast, the rapper described securing a hit song as a difficult task, noting that some artistes spend their entire careers without producing a commercially successful record.
He also commended Burna Boy, Wizkid and Davido for their consistency in releasing hit songs over the years.
According to Odumodublvck, the difficulty of producing a hit song sometimes pushes artistes to desperate measures, including the use of traditional spiritual practices.
“Getting a hit song is not easy. Sometimes people even do jazz to get one. That is why you see some artistes crashing out when they struggle to get a hit.
“Burna Boy, Wizkid and Davido have been dropping hit songs consistently for years.
“You have to respect that. Some artistes never get a hit song throughout their careers,” he said.
