The First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, is set to deliver a sermon at Lambeth Palace in London on Thursday, as part of the schedule for President Bola Tinubu’s state visit to the United Kingdom.
Lambeth Palace, the official residence of the Archbishop of Canterbury, is a key site of the Church of England.
According to the official itinerary shared by AFP, the First Lady will also hold meetings with representatives of the Church of England during her visit.
This visit represents Nigeria’s first state visit to the United Kingdom in nearly 40 years and is expected to focus on enhancing bilateral relations between the two countries.
President Bola Tinubu and First Lady Oluremi Tinubu arrived in London on Tuesday, touching down at Stansted Airport ahead of a series of official engagements.
The visit will feature meetings with King Charles III and British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, along with engagements with Nigeria’s sizeable diaspora community in the United Kingdom.
A devout Christian and ordained pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Mrs. Tinubu has in recent years been actively involved in faith-based initiatives and women’s empowerment programs in Nigeria.
