Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen maintained his impressive form this season, scoring as Galatasaray defeated Göztepe 3-2 in a closely contested Turkish Super Lig encounter on Saturday.
Göztepe shocked the Turkish champions by taking the lead in the 16th minute through Miroshi, but Galatasaray responded quickly, with Davinson Sánchez scoring to restore parity.
Osimhen then played a crucial role in Galatasaray’s comeback, setting up Sara to put the hosts ahead 2-1.
The Nigerian forward extended Galatasaray’s advantage in the 63rd minute, confidently converting a penalty to make it 3-1 and take his tally for the season to five goals.
Göztepe pulled another goal back late in the game, but Galatasaray held firm to secure all three points.
The result moves Galatasaray to the top of the league table after three matches as they begin their campaign to retain the Turkish league title.
