OSUN ELECTION: ISAAC FAYOSE RAISES ALARM OVER VIDEO OF ALLEGED THUGS

Ahead of Saturday’s governorship election in Osun State, Nigerian businessman Isaac Fayose has expressed concern over the alleged rise in political thuggery and violence across the state.
The development followed a video shared on Thursday by Afrobeat singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, which purportedly showed the arrest of suspected political thugs allegedly linked to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In the viral footage, about 11 suspected thugs were reportedly arrested while being transported in an APC-branded campaign vehicle.
The incident has heightened concerns over security in Osun, where reports of attacks and killings have emerged ahead of the election.
Reacting to the video, Fayose raised alarm over the political situation in the state, warning that the country could face greater security challenges ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He accused the APC of allegedly flooding Osun with thugs in an attempt to secure victory, while urging Nigerians to remain vigilant and resist political violence.
Fayose said the alleged developments were a sign of growing desperation ahead of the election and warned that similar tensions could have wider implications for the 2027 elections.
Meanwhile, the APC and Accord Party, the two major parties in the Osun governorship race, have continued to trade allegations of attacks and political violence in various parts of the state.
