OSUN GUBER: APM, PDP CANDIDATES WITHDRAW, ENDORSE ADELEKE(VIDEO)

Two candidates in the upcoming Osun State governorship election, Adebayo Adewale of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) and Adedamola Adebayo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), have stepped down from the race and thrown their support behind the incumbent governor, Ademola Adeleke.
Adewale announced his withdrawal at a press conference on Thursday, explaining that the decision was reached after “deep reflection and extensive consultation” with party leaders, supporters and other stakeholders.
He said the move was made in the interest of the state and was based on his assessment of the political situation ahead of the election. He subsequently urged his supporters and members of the APM to support Adeleke in the poll.
Similarly, the PDP candidate, Adedamola Adebayo, also withdrew his candidacy and endorsed the incumbent governor, further narrowing the field of contenders ahead of the election.
The development is expected to boost Adeleke’s campaign as he seeks another term in office, while potentially reshaping the political dynamics of the election.
The withdrawals also come at a time when political parties and candidates are intensifying their campaigns and mobilising supporters across the state ahead of the governorship poll.
