Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has approved the immediate disengagement of all directors-general of government agencies and technical advisers serving in his administration.

The affected officials have been directed to submit their handover notes to the Office of the Secretary to the State Government.

This was disclosed in a statement issued on Tuesday by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Olayinka Oyebode.

The statement partly read, “The disengagement, which came barely 24 hours after the dissolution of the State Executive Council, marks the completion of the disengagement process for political appointees serving in the administration, except for a few whose appointments have been retained in view of the nature of their assignments.”

Oyebanji expressed appreciation to the affected directors-general and technical advisers for their support, commitment and contributions to his administration and the development of Ekiti State.

The governor also wished them success in their future endeavours.

The latest decision comes as the governor concludes activities ahead of his second-term inauguration scheduled for October 16.

On September 27, Oyebanji had dissolved the boards of government agencies, commissions and parastatals and terminated the appointments of political aides.

However, directors-general and technical advisers were exempted from that exercise, until the latest directive.
