OYO EXTENDS CURFEW IN 10 LGAs BY 24 HOURS

The Oyo State Government has given an extra 24 hours to the curfew that was put in place for 10 local government areas near the Old Oyo National Park.
Governor Seyi Makinde approved the extension, according to a memo issued on Thursday by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Musibau Babatunde.

The newest update means the curfew, which was first set to last for 48 hours, will now stay in place until Saturday, June 27, 2026.
The areas that are affected are Oriire Local Government Area, which is based in Ikoyi-Ile; Orelope Local Government Area, based in Igboho; Irepo Local Government Area, based in Kisi; Saki West Local Government Area, based in Saki; Saki East Local Government Area, based in Ago-Amodu; Atisbo Local Government Area, based in Tede/Ago-Are; Itesiwaju Local Government Area, based in Otu; Iseyin Local Government Area, based in Iseyin; Olorunsogo Local Government Area, based in Igbeti; and Atiba Local Government Area, based in Offa-Meta, Oyo.
So far, the state government has not shared any more information about changing the restrictions beyond the new extension.
