OYO POLICE INVESTIGATE MAN WHO CLAIMS TO HAVE KILLED 32 PEOPLE IN VIRAL VIDEO

Police authorities in Oyo State have responded to a viral video in which a man allegedly claimed responsibility for multiple killings.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the command’s spokesperson, Ayanlade Olayinka, said an investigation has been launched to verify the claims and identify those involved.
The individual in the video, identified as Shawama, appeared with others and reportedly claimed to have killed 32 people. However, the police emphasized that there is no record of such a person ever being arrested by their operatives.
“The Command wishes to categorically state that there is no record of such an individual having been arrested by our operatives at any point,” the statement said.
The police added that the probe is ongoing to confirm the authenticity of the video.
“The investigation is being conducted using advanced technology, including digital forensics and digital footprint analysis, to ensure a thorough and credible outcome,” the command stated.
The police also urged the public to provide any information that could help identify and apprehend the suspect and his accomplices.
“The Command appeals to anyone with information that may lead to the identification and arrest of the individual to come forward,” the statement added.
The police assured residents that updates on the investigation would be shared as progress is made.
