PETER OBI LABELS TINUBU’S RENEWED HOPE AGENDA ‘HOPELESSNESS’

The 2027 presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Peter Obi, has criticised President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, describing it as a failure that has left Nigerians with “renewed hopelessness.”
Speaking on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics, Obi said the Tinubu administration’s policies had failed to inspire confidence or improve the living conditions of ordinary Nigerians.
He pledged to offer what he called “real hope” if elected president, promising visible and measurable improvements in the lives of citizens.
Responding to a question on whether his economic vision of driving growth through increased production was similar to the Tinubu administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda, Obi dismissed the comparison.
“No, no. That’s renewed hopelessness. It’s not working,” he said.
The former Anambra State governor maintained that Nigerians deserved genuine hope rooted in concrete progress rather than political slogans.
“The kind of hope I’ll bring is real hope — tangible hope that people will see and feel,” he added.
