Nigerian singer and member of the former P-Square duo, Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr P, has advised fans to stop comparing him with his twin brother and ex-bandmate, Paul Okoye, also known as Rudeboy, or any other artiste.

In a recent video broadcast, Mr P said he wants to concentrate on his solo career without distractions, stressing that he prefers to be recognized for his individuality.

He urged fans to allow him express himself freely, adding that he is unique in his own right.

“Stop comparing me with my brother or anyone else. Enough of the comparisons. I want to do me. There is no one like me. I want to do my thing and enjoy my success,” he said.

In a related development, Mr P revealed that his short-lived reunion with Rudeboy had an impact on the growth of his solo career.

In an interview with Cool FM Lagos, he claimed that before the reunion, he was gaining up to 100,000 followers daily on Instagram, but that momentum slowed after they came back together.

“Before the reunion, I used to gain 100,000 followers every day. After Davido, it was Don Jazzy and me who were the biggest African celebrities on social media. But after the reunion, everything just dropped,” he said.

He also stated that he deserves greater recognition, noting that he has remained active in the music industry for nearly three decades.

“I have been in the game for nearly 30 years and I am still relevant today. I deserve more respect,” he added.
