POLICE PROBE SHOOTING OF OSUN APC MEMBER

A man named Taofeeq Mustapha, who lives in Osogbo, was shot by armed people he said were in a minibus near the Oluode Aranyin area of Osogbo, Osun State, on Saturday.

In a video shared with our reporter, Mustapha said he is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) party.
He said the attackers targeted him because he was wearing a fez cap that was part of the APC campaign colors and had the lettersAMBO” on it.“AMBO” stands for Bola Oyebamiji, the governorship candidate of the APC.

In the video, Mustapha, who had wounds on his legs, spoke in Yoruba.
He said, “They saw I was wearing a cap with AMBO on it.They came in a Sinna Bus and had fez caps with the word ‘Accord’ on them.They shot at me several times.I barely survived.It was the AMBO cap that made me their target.They have been trying to kill me ever since.Nigerians need to help me.”

When contacted, the spokesperson for the Osun State Police Command, Abiodun Ojelabi, said the command was aware of the incident.

“Probe has commenced into the incident. The victim was offered treatment but his family members insisted on taking him away for treatment.

“We have launched investigation into the incident,” Ojelabi said.
