PRINCESS SAMIAT ABOLANLE BADA FLAGS OFF SECOND-TERM ANNIVERSARY WITH VEHICLE DISTRIBUTION, PROJECTS PROMISE

Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada on Monday officially flagged off the one-year anniversary celebration of her second term as Mayoress and Executive Chairman of Ikosi-Isheri Local Council Development Area, with the presentation of official vehicles and buses to support governance and service delivery across the council.
The ceremony, held at the council secretariat, marked one year since the chairman and her administration were sworn into office for a second term.
Speaking at the event, Bada said the vehicle distribution was part of efforts to fulfil the promises made to residents and improve service delivery within the council.
She expressed gratitude to the community for its continued support, assuring residents that her administration remained committed to delivering more developmental projects.
“When we look back today, it is one year since we were sworn in as the executive chairman of the LCDA. We have executed several projects, and this is just the beginning. It is our way of telling the community that the promises we made have been kept and fulfilled,” she said.
The chairman urged beneficiaries of the vehicles to remain focused and ensure that the official assets are used strictly for public service.
“Our advice is that you remain focused and do not get distracted by these vehicles. Make sure they are used for the purpose for which they were provided,” she said.
Reaffirming her commitment to grassroots development, Bada said more projects would be unveiled during the anniversary celebration.
“My heart is where my community is,” she added.
One of the beneficiaries, the Councillor representing Orile-Ketu Ward B, Adekoya Adegoke, commended the chairman for what he described as her proactive leadership and unwavering support for elected officials.
He said the administration had consistently provided welfare packages and interventions to enable councillors effectively discharge their responsibilities to their constituents.
According to him, the collaborative relationship between the executive and legislative arms of the council has contributed to the successful implementation of development initiatives across various wards.
Adegoke also disclosed that several completed projects would be commissioned in the coming days as part of the anniversary activities, including the reconstruction of Anibaba Street, one of the major roads within the council area.
He described the forthcoming projects as evidence of the administration’s commitment to improving infrastructure and enhancing the quality of life of residents.
The vehicle presentation marks the commencement of a series of activities lined up to celebrate the first anniversary of Princess Bada’s second term in office, with more projects expected to be inaugurated across Ikosi-Isheri LCDA in the days ahead.
