PSC, POLICE EXTEND CONSTABLE RECRUITMENT DEADLINE TO FEBRUARY 8

The Police Service Commission (PSC), in collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), has announced a two-week extension of the ongoing recruitment exercise for 50,000 police constables across the country.
In a statement on Monday, the Head of Protocol and Public Affairs of the PSC, Mr. Torty Njoku Kalu, said the application portal, which opened on December 15, 2025, will now close on February 8, 2026.
Kalu explained that the extension followed the receipt of more than 400,000 applications nationwide, alongside a review that revealed significant disparities in participation across states.
According to the Commission, states such as Adamawa, Benue, and Kaduna recorded high numbers of applications, while Lagos, Ogun, Bayelsa, Ebonyi, and Anambra reported relatively low submissions.
The PSC said the extension was approved to ensure equitable representation of all states in the recruitment process.

Eligible Nigerians, particularly applicants from states with low application figures, were urged to apply through the official recruitment portal at npfapplication.psc.gov.ng before the new deadline.
The Commission also called on state governments, local government councils, socio-cultural organizations, religious bodies, community leaders, and other stakeholders to intensify sensitization and mobilization efforts within their jurisdictions.
The PSC and the Nigeria Police Force reaffirmed their commitment to a fair, transparent, and credible recruitment process.
