PSG HUMILIATE BOTTOM-PLACED LE HAVRE 5-1 AS HAKIMI SCORES HAT-TRICK

Achraf Hakimi delivered an outstanding performance on Friday, scoring a hat-trick as a much-changed Paris Saint-Germain side thrashed bottom-placed Le Havre 5-1 in Ligue 1.
The victory, combined with Rennes’ 5-2 defeat to Nice, allowed the defending champions to extend their lead at the top of the table to four points, having collected 20 points from nine matches.
Lille, who host Lens later on Friday, could reduce the gap to two points with a victory, while Monaco have a similar opportunity when they visit Paris FC on Sunday.
Le Havre started brightly, pushing forward in numbers and putting the PSG defence under pressure before Josh Maja broke the deadlock in the 18th minute with a powerful finish against the run of play.
However, PSG responded eight minutes later when Belgian winger Mika Godts raced onto a through-ball from Hakimi to restore parity.
Just two minutes afterwards, Hakimi put the visitors ahead with a powerful low drive that beat goalkeeper Arnaud Bodard at the near post.
PSG continued to dominate proceedings, with Hakimi extending their advantage through a well-taken free-kick that curled low beyond Bodard to make it 3-1.
Le Havre attempted to mount a comeback by committing players forward, but their attacking approach left them exposed at the back.
PSG capitalised on the opportunity, with Senny Mayulu rounding the goalkeeper, who had strayed far from his goal, before calmly slotting the ball into an unguarded net shortly after the hour mark.
Hakimi completed his hat-trick in the 69th minute, firing through a crowded defence to seal PSG’s emphatic victory. The Moroccan defender was substituted shortly after celebrating his third goal.
PSG manager Luis Enrique had rested several key players, including Desire Doue, Vitinha and Joao Neves, while Ousmane Dembele and Georgian forward Khvicha Kvaratskhelia missed the encounter through injury.
