Former Chairman of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), Sam Amadi, has described the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and his supporters, popularly known as the Obidients, as the most transformative force in Nigerian politics over the past two and a half decades.

Amadi said Obi and his movement have injected significant ideas, energy, and intensity into the country’s political space.

In a post on X, he urged Obi and his followers to remain resolute and intensify their efforts ahead of the 2027 elections.

He wrote: “@PeterObi and his Obidients have been the most transformative force in Nigerian politics in the past two and a half decades.

“The energy, disruption, ideas, and intensity they brought into Nigerian politics are only comparable to what was seen in the 1960s.

“This does not mean they are good or bad people; it simply means they have been immensely transformative. Any serious and fair-minded political scientist will acknowledge this.

“They should remain resolute and press harder in 2027.”
