The Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary of Education District II, Mr. Omotayo Layemo Sanni, has held a strategic engagement with teachers in the Ikorodu Zone to strengthen professionalism, enhance service delivery, and address key issues affecting schools across the district.

The meeting formed part of ongoing efforts to foster direct communication between the district leadership and teachers while reinforcing the values and expectations of the Lagos State Teaching Service.

According to Mr. Sanni, similar engagements will also be organised for teachers in the Somolu and Kosofe Zones.

Addressing school principals, the Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary urged them to provide exemplary leadership and serve as role models for younger officers. He also directed them to safeguard their schools, discourage illegal admissions and the collection of unauthorized fees, and promptly report any activities capable of bringing the teaching service into disrepute.

Speaking to younger teachers, Mr. Sanni emphasised the importance of understanding and complying with the Public Service Rules, stressing that ignorance of the regulations would not be accepted as an excuse for misconduct.

He further advised them to respect constituted authority, observe the oath of secrecy, maintain regular attendance at work, follow the appropriate chain of communication, and refrain from bullying students or engaging in inappropriate relationships with learners.

Mr. Sanni encouraged the teachers to see themselves as the future leaders of the Lagos State Teaching Service and remain committed to professionalism, discipline, and ethical conduct in the discharge of their duties.
