UPDATE: DRIVER OF LEXUS SUV IN ANTHONY JOSHUA CAR-CRASH IN POLICE CUSTODY

The Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Ogun State Police Command, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi; on Thursday, announced that the driver of the Lexus SUV, in which former beavyweight boxing champion, Anthony Joshua was travelling in, during the fatal car crash on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, has been arrested.
DSP Babaseyi made the announcement via his verified X handle, he wrote “The driver of the Lexus SUV is currently in custody in connection with the Anthony Joshua accident case. Investigations are ongoing.”
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) had on Monday, after the crash, identified overspeeding and dangerous overtaking as the immediate causes of the accident.
The accident claimed the lives of two of Joshua’s close associates; AbdulLatif Ayodele (Latz) and Cina Ghami. Their bodies were repatriated to the United Kingdom on Wednesday evening.
Joshua who sustained minor injuries in the crash, was also discharged, on Wednesday evening, from the Lagoon Hospital in Lagos, where he was treated.
