VIDEO: IKEDC WORKER RESCUED AFTER ELECTRIC SHOCK ON LAGOS POWER POLE

An official of Ikeja Electric Plc has been rescued after reportedly suffering an electric shock while working on a power pole in the Gbagada area of Lagos State.
The incident occurred at Gbagada Bus Stop on Thursday, causing panic among commuters and passers-by as colleagues moved to rescue the affected worker.
A video circulating on social media showed two IKEDC field workers attempting to safely bring their colleague down from the elevated ladder.
The worker appeared to be trapped on the ladder, with his head facing downward and his lower body constrained. He could, however, be seen moving his arms and body as his colleagues worked to free him.
An eyewitness who spoke in the video confirmed that the worker had survived the electric shock and was being rescued.
“This is Gbagada Bus Stop. This incident just happened now. Light just shocked the guy; he is a NEPA guy. Now they’re trying to bring him down; he’s not dead,” the eyewitness said.
Concerned bystanders gathered around the base of the utility pole as the rescue operation continued.
As of the time of filing this report, Ikeja Electric had not issued an official statement on the worker’s condition. Calls made to the company’s official lines were also not answered or returned.
