A woman who was shot during a kidnapping in the Ogbere Forest area of Ogun State shared her experience after being saved by security forces.
After she was rescued, the woman talked about how armed people stopped the road and told her to get out of her car.
She said, “When we were approaching the middle of the road, I saw a young man parked there.
He said, ‘Come out, or I will shoot you.’ I tried to stay calm and said, ‘I won’t come out.’ He shot me with a bullet.”
She also mentioned that after shooting her, one of the attackers came back and took her family members by force.
“He grabbed my daughter… and he shot me. He came back again, grabbed my sister and me,” she recounted.
The woman was among five victims rescued within 25 hours during a joint operation by the Lagos and Ogun State Police Commands under Operation KOSAYE.
Police said the victim sustained gunshot injuries during the attack and is receiving medical attention.
The command added that efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining members of the kidnapping gang.
