The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has grounded a private aircraft and suspended the operator’s Permit for Non-Commercial Flight (PNCF) following an unusual landing incident in Delta State.

According to the Authority, the aircraft missed its approach at Ogwashi-Uku and subsequently landed on a roadway near Asaba, Delta State.

Preliminary findings indicated that the aircraft later departed the scene for Lagos without regulatory approval.

Upon arrival in Lagos, the NCAA immediately grounded the aircraft. The crew is currently under regulatory review as investigations continue into both the emergency landing and the subsequent unauthorised departure.

As part of enforcement actions, the Authority also announced the suspension of the operator’s Permit for Non-Commercial Flight, pending a full review of operational and maintenance records.

The NCAA said further actions would depend on the outcome of ongoing investigations into the incident.
