The 147th meeting of the National Economic Council (NEC) is being chaired by Vice President Kashim Shettima.

Governors and several deputy governors from the 36 states, along with a few ministers, heads of agencies, and presidential advisers, are attending the meeting, which is being held in the Council Chamber of the State House in Abuja.

NEC gave the FCT and three states a week to submit their findings on the establishment of state police during its 146th meeting, which was held more than three weeks ago.

Additionally, it had voiced concerns regarding the recently proposed tax reform bills and urged President Bola Tinubu to revoke them in order to facilitate more extensive deliberations.
