Investors shut down Diamond Bank over N398 Million In Minna

No fewer than one thousand investors who deposited over N398 million of their hard earned money in the account of Cashflow with the Diamond Bank in Minna, Niger State capital, barricaded the bank over non refund of their funds despite court orders.
A Human Rights activist, Reverend Mfon Akpakpan Udoh, who led the peaceful protest in an interview, said that N398, 045,000 was invested by various individuals in the account Cash flow with Diamond Bank from 2011.
Udoh stated that the account was frozen but the bank refused to inform the depositors until their discovery and they went to a High Court in Abuja in 2013 who ordered the transfer of that account to the First Bank to enable investors access their money.
He noted that over N6 trillion was invested in to the account in 15 states of the federation saying that the protest was going on simultaneously in those states which includes Kaduna, Ogun, Lagos, Ondo, Enugu, Abuja, Ebonyi, Kwara and others.
Evangelist Udoh added that Human Rights office received complaint in 2014 and have written to the than President, Senate President Mark who replied to have written to the Central Bank of Nigeria CBN and other financial institutions in the country but despite the court order and other efforts the Diamond Bank did not obey rather said its the EFCC.
He further disclosed that Diamond Bank has received a cheque in August 20, 2015 for payment but till date had refused to implement, lamented over how retirees, civil servants and business women invested their hard earned money.
The Bank manager refused to interact with the press referring them to the notice pester on the gate that denied on the cash collection of liability with Cashflow at Diamond Bank that it was false that no such cash collection was available despite protesters deposit slips of their bank.
The protesters were carrying placards with different prescriptions like Federal government please help to enforce court order on Diamond Bank, Diamond Bank obey court order, open the cashflow account to get our money, Diamond Bank release and others.
