The Frenchman was given a warm embrace by former foes Sir Alex Ferguson and Jose Mourinho on the touchline ahead of his final match in charge of the Gunners at Old Trafford.
Wenger was handed a piece of silverware by Ferguson as a tribute for his 22 years in English football, while at the same time being applauded by United supporters.
Asked about his reception after the match, the 68-year-old told Sky Sports News: “It was very nice and classy. I enjoyed it.
“I have come here for a long long time. Next year, someone else will be in the dugout and it will be a hostile environment again!”
