ERLING HAALAND ‘EARNS NEARLY £1 MILLION PER WEEK AS SALARY DETAILS COME TO LIGHT
At Manchester City, Erling Haaland reportedly makes close to £900,000 weekly, according to Sportsmail.
The Norwegian superstar, who has dominated the Premier League since moving to the league for £51 million from Borussia Dortmund, is picking up the staggering sum which makes him by far the highest-paid player in the country.
Haaland’s wage at Man City had until now been a source of rumours, but it is believed that the 22-year-old receives a basic salary which is in line with the other higher earners at the Etihad Stadium. However, a series of substantial add-ons sees his weekly wage beyond £850,000 mark (£45m a year).
Thanks to a release clause in his contract with the German club, which was perceived as a bargain at the time for a player viewed as the hottest young prospect in Europe, Man City beat out a number of major clubs to sign the outstanding finisher in April for a very low cost.
It now appears to be the deal of the century after unstoppable Haaland scored a scarcely believable 19 goals in 12 games after a blistering start.
Haaland, who hit three successive home hat-tricks including one in Sunday’s a 6-3 derby demolition of Manchester United, is on course to smash existing records to pieces.
He already has 14 goals in eight Premier League matches at a scoring rate which, while highly unlikely, would see him finish the campaign with 67 goals.
On Wednesday night he hit two as City crushed Copenhagen 5-0 in the Champions League.
