The governorship candidate of the Action Democratic Party (ADP) in Oyo State, Akim Adebola Yusuf mni, has denied reports making the rounds that the Party, in the South-West, has collapsed its structure for the candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Saturday’s presidential elections.

On Wednesday, news had emerged that political parties in four states in the South-West have collapsed their structures to work for the victory of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu at the poll.

The political parties, Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Young Progressives Party (YPP), Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), and Action Democratic Party (ADP), who are members of the South-West Alliance of Registered Political Parties said they decided to collapse their political parties’ structures to ensure Tinubu’s victory in Saturday’s election.

The alleged decision of the political parties to work for Tinubu’s victory was announced by the Lagos State Chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), Mobolaji Olusegun of YPP during the Lagos Youth Stakeholders Parley organised by the Office of the Lagos APC Youth Leader at Ikeja on Wednesday.

In reaction, Akim Yusuf mni, via a press release personally signed by him, said ‘I write to categorically deny reports making the rounds that the ADP Southwest, including Oyo State, has collapsed it’s structures for the Presidential candidate of the APC or any other political party.

“The reports and any actions leading thereto do not carry the authority of the members of ADP, Oyo State and we remain solidly behind and committed to our Party’s Presidential candidate, Engr Yusuf Sani Yabagi.

“We urge all our Party members and the general public not to be misinformed by the actions of self-serving individuals making purchased endorsements.”
