In preparation for the upcoming Sallah Celebration, the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 2 headquarters, Onikan, Lagos, Ari Muhammed Ali, said the Police is in synergy with other security agencies to rid Lagos of all forms of criminality adding that the officers in the state remain proactive in their responses to ensure improved policing of citizens.

Ali mentioned this while briefing journalists during a visit to the Lagos State Police Command, Monday.

While speaking, AIG Ari Muhammed, stated that the Force has men in strategic locations in the state, who are nose-diving to get information about the movement of criminals.

He mentioned that the force is equally networking with members of the public and will evade any terrorist attacks.

The AIG commended the officers and men of the Lagos state command for their extreme dedication while advising them to give room for improvement in ensuring that the state is free from crime to a reasonable extent.

Meanwhile, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Idowu Owohunwa, has vowed to make sure that all those hiding under the umbrella of cultism will brought to book unless they denounce the activity or vacate the state.

He has also assured that the command will get to the source of supply of firearms to criminals in the state while charging all DPOs at the tactical commands to get to the roots by cracking all criminal hideouts.

He said, “On no circumstance that the command under our common watch will not sit back and allow the misguided elements hiding under the umbrella of cultism to threaten the internal security security and peace of the state. We are going to sustain these until they choose to either denounce cultism or vacate the state.”

“Our approach towards the source of these firearms is not just to move them, but, also to get to the depth of the sources. All the DPOs at the tactical commands have been charged to do that because, it is only getting to the root that we can effectively say that we have cracked such crimes.”

While speaking on Gender and Sexual Violence, he said, “What we are trying to do is to re-engineer our gender unit in collaboration with the office of the First Lady, the sexual violence unit of Lagos State Command, NGOs and some strategic stakeholders. So far, we have initiated a remodeling airforce such that we give more befitting state for them.

They have trained more men, more personnel to man the facility, so that they can have the capacity to effectively respond to these threats.”

He however, commended the DPOs and Officers for their support in ensuring the stability of the security order of Lagos State.

The AIG also decorated three newly promoted officers of the command.
