
EKWEREMADU, WIFE ABSENT AT SON’S WEDDING IN ABUJA
Lloyd Ekweremadu, the son of former Deputy Senate President Senator Ike Ekweremadu, married Tiffany on Saturday in Abuja.
Leading PDP figures, including Senator Dino Melaye, who is running for governor of Kogi State; Anyim Pius Anyim; David Mark; and Bukola Saraki, among others, stood in for Ekweremadu and his wife Beatrice, according to information obtained by The Nation.
Ekweremadu and his wife Beatrice, who served as the senator for the Enugu West senatorial district for roughly 20 years, were convicted of organ trafficking in May 2023 and received various prison sentences. They are currently being imprisoned in a UK prison.
The former Deputy Senate President and PDP leader was given a nine-year and eight-month prison sentence by a UK court, according to The Nation.
In addition, the court condemned Beatrice to four years and six months in prison, while Obinna Obeta, a doctor who was accused of conspiring with them, received a ten-year prison term.
The ceremony was held in the Basilica of Grace Anglican Church in Abuja’s Gudu District.
