In a bid to consolidate academic excellence and enhance student performance, the Supervising Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary (TG/PS) of Education District II, Mr. Olusegun Osinaike, convened a high-level meeting with all Senior Secondary School Principals in the District to review the analysis of the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) results and address other pressing academic issues.
The meeting, held at the District Headquarters, provided a platform for a detailed evaluation of performance trends across schools, identifying strengths, weaknesses, and areas requiring urgent intervention.
Principals engaged in robust discussions with the TG/PS on strategies to boost teaching effectiveness, strengthen student support systems, and intensify preparation for future examinations.
Mr. Osinaike, in his address, commended schools that recorded notable improvements and urged others to embrace innovative teaching and mentoring approaches.
He emphasized that success in public examinations is a shared responsibility requiring commitment, discipline, and strategic planning from all stakeholders.
“Our goal is not just to improve numbers, but to ensure that every student receives the quality education and guidance needed to excel. With the right synergy between school leadership, teachers, parents, and students, Education District II will set a new benchmark in WASSCE performance,” he stressed.
The meeting also reached resolutions on actionable steps, including targeted academic clinics, inter-school collaboration, mentorship for weaker students, and consistent monitoring of instructional delivery.
The Principals, in turn, pledged their unwavering commitment to implementing the agreed strategies, assuring that the next examination cycle will reflect a marked improvement in the District’s overall performance.
