DR. AKIM ADEBOLA YUSUF EXPRESSES CONDOLENCES TO NPS FAMILIES, JOINS ADC, ANNOUNCES GOVERNORSHIP ASPIRATION

Dr. Akim Adebola Yusuf, mni, popularly known as Omoluabi Ta Nwa and the Action Democratic Party (ADP) governorship candidate in the 2023 general elections, has expressed condolences to the families, colleagues, and loved ones of officers of the National Park Service (NPS) who lost their lives while on duty at the Old Oyo National Park.
In a statement in Ibadan during his New Year message to supporters and the people of Oyo State, Dr. Yusuf prayed for the repose of the departed officers’ souls and asked Almighty God to grant their families the strength to bear the irreparable loss. He described the incident as a “wake-up call” for urgent improvements to the state’s security infrastructure.
The former pioneer Special Adviser on Due Process, Policy, and Budget Implementation to former Governor Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, Arusa I, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, also addressed growing public curiosity regarding his political future following his resignation from the ADP in 2024.
After careful consideration of the political landscape in Oyo State and nationwide, Dr. Yusuf formally declared his support for the African Democratic Congress (ADC). He directed his supporters across the state’s thirty-three local government areas to begin mobilisation in preparation for the ADC’s upcoming membership revalidation and registration exercise.
Furthermore, Dr. Yusuf officially announced his intention to contest for the governorship ticket of the ADC in Oyo State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He concluded by wishing his supporters and all residents of Oyo State a happy, peaceful, and prosperous 2026.
