The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), operating under the joint task force of Operation Hadin Kai, has executed a coordinated air interdiction at Abbaga Jiri in the Timbuktu Triangle, Borno State.

According to Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, NAF’s Director of Public Relations and Information, the air strikes successfully paved the way for ground troops, targeting confirmed terrorist positions, structures, and concealed logistics facilities based on actionable intelligence from multiple sources.

Ejodame explained that NAF air assets were deployed in integrated surveillance and precision strike roles to neutralize identified threats. “The targeted terrorist structures were decisively engaged and destroyed, denying the insurgents freedom of action. Follow-up operations also neutralized armed elements observed converging on the location,” he stated.

Ground forces later advanced into the area, confirming the effectiveness of the air strikes and the success of the joint air–land operation.

Speaking on the mission, Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, said the operation demonstrates NAF’s commitment to dominating the air domain in support of joint operations. “We will continue to deny terrorists freedom of movement, sanctuary, and logistics wherever they attempt to hide. Our air operations are intelligence-driven, precise, and relentless,” Aneke said.

He emphasized that such missions are critical in enabling ground troops to maintain momentum and deliver decisive outcomes against terrorist networks threatening lives, property, and national security. “Operations are carefully planned to maximize effect on hostile elements while safeguarding innocent civilians,” Aneke added.

The Nigerian Air Force affirmed its determination to sustain pressure on terrorist networks until they are completely dismantled, showcasing its precision airpower and commitment to joint operations.
