UKRAINE TO RECEIVE LONG-RANGE BALLISTIC MISSILES FROM UK, SAYS RUSSIA

The United Kingdom has begun developing advanced tactical ballistic missiles to strengthen Ukraine’s defence against Russia’s military operations.
Dubbed Project Nightfall, the missiles boast a range exceeding 500 kilometers and are engineered to operate in high-threat environments with heavy electromagnetic interference. The warheads can be deployed from multiple vehicle platforms, firing successive rounds and withdrawing within minutes.
The UK plans to produce 200kg conventional high-explosive missiles, complementing thousands of attack drones already supplied to Ukraine.
Defence Secretary John Healey condemned the recent overnight Russian strikes, noting that such attacks reinforce the UK’s resolve to support Ukraine. Recounting his visit to Lviv, he described hearing air raid sirens and witnessing the impact of drones and missiles on civilians.
“Putin thinks he can act with impunity, targeting civilian areas with advanced weaponry,” Healey said. “Instead of negotiating peace, he’s escalating his illegal war.”
Minister for Defence Readiness and Industry Luke Pollard added that the long-range missiles will bolster Ukraine’s defence capabilities and give Russia additional strategic concerns.
The UK and France are spearheading the Coalition of the Willing, with Prime Minister Keir Starmer and President Emmanuel Macron planning military bases and weapons storage facilities in Ukraine.
Russia has condemned these moves, warning that the continued militarisation of Ukraine is becoming “increasingly dangerous and destructive” for Europe and its citizens.
