The Managing Director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Mrs Olubunmi Kuku, has assured air travellers of a smooth and uninterrupted travel experience at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos, despite ongoing rehabilitation works at the facility.

Kuku gave the assurance while inspecting the newly constructed temporary departure terminal ahead of the planned closure of Terminal One for extensive rehabilitation.

She disclosed that the 8,000-square-metre temporary departure terminal is over 90 per cent completed and would soon commence operations. According to her, the facility has been designed to accommodate between five and six airlines in its initial phase and is capable of handling up to 1,500 passengers during peak travel periods.

The FAAN boss explained that the temporary terminal is fully equipped to deliver standard aviation services, including passenger check-in, security screening and boarding, to ensure minimal disruption to flight operations and passenger movement.
