Ahead of the deadline set by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has completed accommodation arrangements for Nigerian pilgrims for the 2026 Hajj in both Makkah and Madinah.
The Chairman and CEO of NAHCON, Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman, announced this on Monday through his Technical Assistant on Media, Ahmad Muazu.
Usman noted that the completion of accommodation uploads and approval by the Saudi Ministry of Hajj aligns with Vice President Kashim Shettima’s directive that all key Hajj arrangements be finalized within Saudi-approved timelines to protect Nigeria’s operational interests.
He acknowledged the guidance of the Vice President and highlighted the collaborative efforts of a high-level delegation to Saudi Arabia, the NAHCON board and staff, the Nusuk Masar team, the Forum of State Pilgrims Welfare Boards, and other stakeholders in securing the accommodations.

“With these arrangements concluded, Nigeria has secured its accommodation for the 2026 Hajj and is among the countries that have met this critical requirement within the prescribed timelines,” the chairman said, adding that the commission will now move to the next phase of operational preparations for the 2026 Hajj.
Usman had previously reiterated NAHCON’s dedication to early planning, efficient coordination, and strict compliance with due process for the 2026 Hajj exercise.
He stated that the commission is fully aligned with the federal government’s policy under President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which emphasizes the welfare and spiritual well-being of Nigerian pilgrims.
Usman added that, operating under the oversight of the Vice President, NAHCON remains committed to completing all critical preparations for the pilgrimage on schedule.
