A chieftain of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Adewole Adebayo, has outlined conditions under which the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) could either win or lose the 2027 general elections.

Speaking with The Media, on Sunday, Adebayo said the APC would emerge victorious if the election is decided by politicians, but would lose if it reflects the will of the people.

The former SDP presidential candidate, who spoke while assessing the 2027 polls, maintained that President Bola Tinubu, the APC and other incumbents are not invincible.

Expressing confidence in his party’s chances, Adebayo said the SDP would defeat the APC and unseat Tinubu in the next general election.

According to him, the APC’s strength lies largely within the political class, adding that the task before Nigerians is to build a new political leadership capable of challenging the ruling party.

He stressed that while creating a new political class may be difficult, it remains necessary to replace the current leadership in 2027.
