POLICE ARREST 65-YEAR-OLD SUSPECT FOR ALLEGEDLY DEFILING MINOR IN IBADAN

The Oyo State Police Command has arrested a 65-year-old man for allegedly defiling a six-year-old girl in Ibadan.
The arrest was confirmed in a statement by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Olayinka Ayanlade.
According to Ayanlade, the victim was allegedly coerced and indecently assaulted multiple times in December 2025 while hawking at Onikeke, in the Ayegun area of Ibadan.

The suspect, identified as Ibrahim Raheem, has been apprehended and reportedly confessed to indecently abusing the child, though he denied engaging in carnal knowledge.
“The victim was immediately taken to a hospital for comprehensive medical examination and socio-psychological care to help her cope with the trauma,” the police spokesman said.
