PHOTOS: TINUBU RECEIVES AFRICOM COMMANDER AT STATE HOUSE

President Bola Tinubu met with Dagvin Anderson, the leader of the US Africa Command (AFRICOM), and Keith Heffern, the top US diplomatic official in Nigeria, at the State House in Abuja on Sunday.
Also at the meeting were Peter Vrooman, who advises AFRICOM on foreign policy, and Garric Banfield, a senior leader in AFRICOM.
The group was welcomed by the president along with top Nigerian security officials, such as Nuhu Ribadu, who is the national security adviser; Mohammed Mohammed, head of the National Intelligence Agency; Tosin Ajayi, leader of the Department of State Service; Christopher Musa, the defense minister; Olufemi Oluyede, the chief of defense staff; Waidi Shaibu, the chief of army staff; and Emmanuel Uandiandeye, the chief of defense intelligence.

The meeting happened a few days after Anderson said the US sent a “small team” of soldiers to Nigeria, which followed recent work together on security between the two countries.
Anderson said the move followed his meeting with Tinubu in Rome, Italy, late last year.
