Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal broke a new goal-scoring record in Europe’s top five leagues over the weekend.

The 18-year-old became the highest scorer under the age of 19 in these leagues after netting a goal against Mallorca, helping Barcelona secure a 3-0 victory.

The Spain international surpassed Kylian Mbappe, setting a new milestone in his young career. Yamal now has 24 goals, overtaking Mbappe, who had scored 23 goals for AS Monaco and Paris Saint-Germain before turning 19 on December 23, 2017.

Trailing Yamal and Mbappe on the all-time list are Wayne Rooney (15 goals), Valeri Bozhinov (14), and Ansu Fati (13).

Yamal will now look to continue his impressive form as Barcelona prepare to face Atletico Madrid in the Copa del Rey on Thursday.
