GOMBE GOV COMMITS SUPPORT TO TINUBU’S RENEWED HOPE PROGRAMME

Gombe State Governor Muhammadu Yahaya on Monday joined President Bola Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, fellow governors, ministers, lawmakers, development partners, and private sector leaders at the two-day National Economic Council Conference held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The conference, themed “Delivering Inclusive Growth and Sustainable National Development: The Renewed Hope National Development Plan 2026–2030,” provides a platform for policy coordination, peer learning, and collaboration between federal and state governments to achieve inclusive, resilient, and sustainable development.

According to a statement by Ismaila Misilli, Director-General of Press Affairs at Gombe Government House, Tinubu highlighted in his opening remarks the government’s commitment to stabilizing the economy, deepening fiscal federalism, and achieving measurable development outcomes. He emphasized ongoing reforms, increased revenue flows to subnational governments, infrastructure expansion, and targeted social investments as core pillars of the Renewed Hope Agenda.

On the sidelines, Governor Yahaya affirmed his administration’s dedication to implementing policies and projects that boost economic growth, deepen inclusion, and improve the quality of life in Gombe State.

He noted that his government continues to prioritize strategic investments in agriculture, livestock development, infrastructure, industrialization, education, healthcare, and human capital development, aligning with the objectives of the Renewed Hope National Development Plan.

Yahaya added that Gombe has positioned itself as a regional hub for agricultural and livestock transformation through deliberate reforms, large-scale investments, and strategic partnerships, yielding positive results in food security, job creation, and economic diversification.

He emphasized the crucial role of subnational governments in turning national development plans into tangible impacts, stating:

“In Gombe State, we are already taking deliberate steps to drive inclusive development, expand economic opportunities, empower our youths and women, and build resilient infrastructure that supports sustainable growth.”

The governor expressed confidence that sustained collaboration among federal and state governments, development partners, and the private sector will strengthen Nigeria’s development agenda and deliver lasting prosperity to its citizens.
