AYRA STARR NAMES WIZKID, TIWA SAVAGE, REMA AS AFROBEATS GOATS

Nigerian singer Ayra Starr has revealed her picks for the greatest Afrobeats artistes of all time, often referred to as the “Afrobeats Big 3.”
Speaking during a recent interview on Hot 97 FM, the singer named Tiwa Savage, Wizkid, and Rema as the top three artistes in the genre.
Her selection notably left out Davido and Burna Boy, who are widely regarded alongside Wizkid as part of Afrobeats’ traditional “Big 3.”
“My Afrobeats Big 3 would be Tiwa Savage, Wizkid and Rema that’s my solid Big 3,” she said.
Meanwhile, Ayra Starr also explained why she decided to relocate from Nigeria to New York, noting that her friends and the city’s cultural familiarity played a major role in her choice.
She revealed that she spent the last two summers in New York and even lived in Hell’s Kitchen for about three months with friends, describing the experience as enjoyable.

“I spent the last two summers in New York and last summer I stayed in Hell’s Kitchen for about three months with my friends. We were watching American shows and movies. It was fun,” she said.
Starr added that moving to the United States had always been something she dreamed about while growing up.
“Growing up, I had always wanted to come to America. So I thought about which city I would want to live in. LA felt too far because the time difference with Nigeria is about nine hours, so I chose New York,” she explained during an interview with Angela Yee.
