FIRE DESTROYS 10 SHOPS AT JOS TERMINUS MARKET

A fire broke out at the popular Terminus Market in “], Plateau State, on Saturday night, destroying more than 10 shops despite the rapid response of firefighters and emergency teams.
The blaze, which reportedly started around 10:00 p.m., sent thick smoke into the night sky as flames spread through parts of the market, damaging shops and goods.
An eyewitness, Silas Lawrenzo, noted that the quick action of emergency responders helped prevent the fire from turning into a larger catastrophe.
“Their swift intervention limited the damage and prevented what could have become widespread destruction across the market,” he said.

Lawrenzo confirmed that no lives were lost in the incident.
However, a visit to Terminus Market by our correspondent on Sunday morning revealed that several shops and their goods had been damaged by the fire.
The exact cause of the fire had not been determined at the time of reporting.
Attempts to reach the General Manager of [“Jos Main Market”], Mangnan Yusuf Wamyil, were unsuccessful, as his phone line was switched off.
Our correspondent also noted that the incident comes just days after a similar blaze last Tuesday destroyed parts of the “Plateau State College of Health Technology” in the Zawan community, Jos South Local Government Area, reducing the medical laboratory section to ashes and leaving students in distress.
