SHETTIMA DECLARES FINTIRI APC PARTY LEADER IN ADAMAWA

Vice President Kashim Shettima, during a reception in Adamawa State on Monday for Governor Ahmadu Fintiri last month, stated that Fintiri automatically assumes the role of party leader in the state.
Shettima’s clarification came amid debates over whether Fintiri or National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, who previously held the position before Fintiri’s defection, leads the APC in Adamawa.
He cited examples from his home state of Borno, where Governor Babagana Zulum serves as party leader instead of him, and from Plateau State, where, despite the APC National Chairman being from the state, Governor Caleb Mutfwang holds the party leadership.
Speaking on behalf of President Bola Tinubu at the grand reception for Governor Ahmadu Fintiri on Monday evening, Vice President Kashim Shettima expressed the APC and Federal Government’s pride in Fintiri, welcoming him and his supporters into the party.

“As we arrived in Yola earlier today, we were greeted not only by the people but also by the impressive projects you have implemented,” Shettima told Fintiri.
The APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, presented Fintiri with the party’s flag, praising him as a hardworking governor and encouraging him to raise the party’s profile even further.
Handing over the symbolic APC broom to Fintiri, the National Chairman tasked him with uniting members of other parties in the state under the APC banner.
In his remarks, Fintiri, who on Sunday, March 22, persuaded former ADC governorship candidate Senator Abdulazeez Nyako to return to the APC, pledged to work diligently to attract other prominent figures to the party.
