Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen arrived in Istanbul on Sunday night ahead of further medical examinations for the arm injury he sustained last Wednesday during their UEFA Champions League clash against Liverpool at Anfield.

Osimhen is set to undergo scans on Monday to determine whether surgery will be necessary. Turkish outlet Forza Cimbom reported that the club will plan for surgery depending on the fracture’s condition.

The 27-year-old sustained the injury following a challenge from Ibrahima Konaté in the first half of the match. Galatasaray confirmed that Osimhen fractured his right forearm and was subsequently cast, leaving the decision on surgery pending further evaluation.

Osimhen spent some time in Nigeria with his arm in a cast before returning to Istanbul. Recovery is estimated at three to five months if surgery is required, though an early return is possible depending on healing progress.

Despite Galatasaray’s Champions League exit, the club continues to rely on Osimhen’s contributions. This season, he has scored 19 goals and provided seven assists in 29 appearances across all competitions, including seven goals and three assists in 10 Champions League matches, helping Galatasaray maintain a four-point lead in the Super Lig.

Turkish journalist Ali Naci Küçük noted that the club is closely monitoring the situation, with surgery to be evaluated next week. Meanwhile, Osimhen has been omitted from Nigeria’s 23-man squad for upcoming friendlies against Jordan and Iran in Turkey.
