KANO POLICE COMMAND PROVIDES N8.4 MILLION IN WELFARE SUPPORT TO OFFICERS AND THEIR FAMILIES

The Kano State Police Command has handed out cheques totaling N8.4 million to 18 next of kin and one police officer, beneficiaries under the Group Life Assurance, Group Personnel Accident, and IGP Welfare Scheme.
In a statement released on Friday, the command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Abdullahi Haruna, said that the state Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Bakori, personally presented the cheques to the beneficiaries at the command’s headquarters in Bompai, Kano.
“The initiative, guided by the directives of the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, reflects the Nigeria Police Force’s steadfast commitment to the welfare and well-being of its officers and their families, especially those affected by accidents, injuries, or loss of life,” the statement noted.

The recipients, including families of injured officers, officers involved in accidents, and relatives of those who died in the line of duty, received the financial support as a demonstration of the Nigeria Police Force’s dedication to their care and welfare.
Bakori conveyed the IGP’s message to the beneficiaries, urging them to use the funds judiciously for their health and well-being, and prayed for the souls of the deceased officers.
The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to the IGP for the support, acknowledging the Nigeria Police Force’s efforts in ensuring that its personnel and their families are protected and cared for in times of need.
The command commended the IGP’s initiative and reaffirmed its commitment to serving the community with dedication and professionalism, while also ensuring the welfare of its personnel.
