President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Saturday paid respect to former President Olusegun Obasanjo and former Ogun State Governor, Chief Olusegun Osoba, as the two elder statesmen joined other Ogun leaders to receive him on arrival at the Gateway International Cargo Airport.

In a video captured by the National Television Authority, Tinubu was seen bowing as he greeted Obasanjo and Osoba while exchanging pleasantries with them. Governor Dapo Abiodun, former Governor Gbenga Daniel, and other dignitaries were also present during the reception on the tarmac.

The President subsequently presided over the commissioning of the Gateway International Cargo Airport and the inauguration of two new commercial aircraft for Gateway Air, the state-owned airline operated in partnership with ValueJet.

He also unveiled the new building of the Federal Operations Unit of the Nigerian Customs Service and handed over operational vehicles at the facility.

The projects, initiated by previous administrations and completed under Governor Abiodun, are expected to enhance cargo and passenger traffic, as well as boost export and import activities.

According to reports, Tinubu’s visit to Ogun State, initially scheduled for Thursday, April 2, was postponed due to his condolence visit to Jos to sympathise with the government and people of Plateau State over recent killings.
