KATSINA SWAT ARRESTS 26 SUSPECTED MISCREANTS IN LATE-NIGHT RAID

The Katsina State Police Command said its personnel from Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) unit have arrested 26 suspected social miscreants during a late-night operation targeting criminal hideouts across Katsina metropolis.
According to a statement by the Command’s spokesperson, DSP Abubakar Sadiq, the operation, was carried out in the early hours of April 14, 2026. He said the raid focused on identified black spots known for criminal activities.
“In a sustained effort to tackle the activities of social miscreants terrorising the Katsina Metropolis, the Katsina State Police Command has recorded a major breakthrough with the arrest of 26 suspected social miscreants during an intelligence-led operation.” It said
The statement said that on April 14, 2026, at about 2:00 a.m., the officer in charge of the SWAT unit led a team of operatives on a coordinated raid of identified criminal hideouts and black spots across the metropolis. The operation led to the arrest of 26 suspects linked to various offences, including membership of miscreant gangs, unlawful societies, and acts constituting public nuisance.
Items recovered during the raid included live ammunition, a sword, two cutlasses, a sharp knife, sticks, a saw, six suspected stolen mobile phones, dried leaves believed to be Indian hemp, 500 Exol tablets, and a pair of military camouflage shirts.
The statement added that the suspects were arraigned in court after investigations were concluded. It also noted that the Commissioner of Police, Katsina State Command, CP Ali Umar Fage, commended the operatives for their professionalism and dedication.
